Having grown over a decade of community contributions, DCEx suffered from fragmented information silos, outdated forum layouts, and broken search indices. New practitioners struggled to find relevant case studies, cost models, and preservation tooling.
Before our collaboration, visitors faced hurdles in understanding the true depth of the offering. Between confusing navigation, generic interfaces, and friction-filled mobile interactions, user drop-off was undermining genuine brand loyalty.

We reimagined DCEx as a modern, peer-reviewed knowledge hub. We developed a unified faceted taxonomy aligned with international data preservation standards (OAIS, FAIR), built an ultra-fast client-side search engine, and provided clean workflows for researchers to submit and review resources.
We completely stripped away legacy friction points. By aligning information hierarchy with natural reader intent and implementing bespoke typographic pacing, every screen now serves a direct, memorable purpose.
